France’s most famous company, Groupe la Poste, via its Mail and Package Services branch, has mobilized massively in the year 2023 to help the association in its fight against plastic pollution! As a company with a mission, Groupe la Poste aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 42% between 2020 and 2030, and to become carbon neutral by 2040.
Named ambassadors by their peers, several dozen postal workers organized no fewer than 15 clean-ups with the support of The SeaCleaners’ various volunteer delegations throughout France and across the Atlantic! Indeed, after the launch of the first operation on May 24 on the beach at Lacanau in Gironde, and actions all over the country, from Lorient to Dijon, via Lyon and Narbonne, the final waste collection operation was held in the West Indies on the beach at Viard (Petit-Bourg) in Guadeloupe on November 15.The success of this partnership led to a number of local initiatives by postal workers, notably in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, where 17 collections brought together families, friends and employees on a single day!
To round off this wonderful year of partnership, we’d like to give you an overview of the figures for our various actions: almost 4 tonnes of waste were collected in France and the French overseas territories, and over 2,000 La Poste Group employees were made aware of the need to protect our oceans – a great success!
